U.S. embassy in Azerbaijan celebrates Novruz Holiday - PHOTOS

"We expect Novruz as a personification of the arrival of spring and the onset of heat," the head of U.S embassy's office for public affairs Terry Davidson said at the event on March 16.

Azerbaijani folk songs and dances were performed at the event.

A bonfire was made in the yard of the U.S. ambassador's residence, which according to the tradition, embassy staff and invited guests jumped over the fire.

Guests were offered holiday foods, including traditional national sweets.
