Azerbaijan joins CoE convention

On Feb. 25, Azerbaijan signed the Council of Europe Convention on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings, the permanent mission of Azerbaijan to the CoE told Trend News.
On behalf of the Azerbaijani Republic the convention was signed by country's permanent representative to the Council of Europe, Ambassador Arif Mammadov, and on behalf of the Council of Europe - the Deputy Secretary General of the organization Maud de Boer-Buquicchio.

At the signing ceremony, describing this as a commitment of the republic to the values of the CoE, Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe appreciated the initiative of Azerbaijan and expressed hope for the ratification of the convention soon.

Azerbaijan is the 43rd country among the CoE member states that signed the Convention on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings.
