Azerbaijan State University of Economics hosted the conference “Experience and prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijani and German universities” within the Azerbaijan-German Days of Higher Education.
The conference was organized by the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan and German Academic Exchange Program (DAAD).

Azerbaijani university rectors and representatives of more than 20 universities of Germany attended the conference.

In his welcoming speech, the Minister of Education of Azerbaijan Misir Mardanov said Azerbaijan and Germany were working together in all spheres, including education.

“We need to enhance this potential. This is first conference not only in Azerbaijan, but in whole South Caucasus. It will promote academic exchange and create opportunity for the scholars to exchange experiences and give to the university rectors an opportunity to keep direct relations with their German colleagues”.

The minister said the number of Azerbaijani students studying in Germany was increasing year-by-year.

"As many as 74 Azerbaijani students are studying in Germany under the government program now. Most of Azerbaijani students are involved with academic programs in economics, finance, medicine and agriculture," he said.
