Six-member commission announced the medical judgment on the examination of former Health Minister Ali Insanov, who is held in the medical unit of Justice Ministry, chief of Main Medical Department of Justice Ministry Rafael Mehdiyev told APA.

He said according to the judgment, Ali Insanov suffered from hypertension, chronic colitis, Protrusions of intervertebral discs, rootlet syndrome. Mehdiyev also said ex-minister did not suffer from active tuberculosis.
The medical commission noted that the prisoner did not need surgery. The department chief said conservative physiotherapy treatment would begin soon.
Ali Insanov’s lawyer Togrul Babayev told APA that the judgment of the medical commission had not been given to them.
"The examination ended on January 10, but the judgment has not been officially presented to us. The judgment should have been given to us officially. As it was not done, we appealed to the European Court of Human Rights," he said.
Babayev said he had met with Ali Insanov that day.
Ali Insanov was transferred to the medical unit of Justice Ministry under the decision of the European Court of Human Rights. European Court had allotted time to Azerbaijani government for the examination and treatment of Ali Insanov by January 20. According to the decision, Justice Ministry set up a commission consisting of 6 men. Ex-minister’s examination began at the end of December.
