Terry Davidson: "We will ask the Azerbaijani government to make an official comment on the decision to shutdown foreign radio stations"

We have no information about the official decision to close BBC, Azadlyg and Voice of America radio stations in Azerbaijan, said Terry Davidson, chief of department of the public relations department of the US embassy to Azerbaijan, Day.Az reports with reference to the Azadlyg radio.

"We will ask the government of Azerbaijan to make an official statement on the decision to shutdown foreign radio stations. Democratic societies need open and diverse press. The Azadlyg radio, Voice of America and BBC contribute to conduction of public discussions in Azerbaijan", said Davidson.
