Monitoring on avian flu prevention to be held in Azerbaijan

A monitoring for prevention of avian flue will start in Azerbaijan on November 3 of 20078, said spokesman for the State Veterinary Service under Azerbaijan Agricultural Ministry Yolchu Khanveli.
He said the monitoring will be held at the Absheron peninsula, in Devechi, Salyan regions, Gizilaghadj reserve of the Lenkoran region.

"Specialists of the veterinarian service, Ministry of Ecology, Ministry of Health, Hunters Union of the country will be involved to the monitoring", said Khanveli.

He noted that the samples of blood of birds of prey and poultry are collected during monitoring for lab studies.

Khanveli said that the results of the monitoring will be made public on November 14.
