Azerbaijani schoolchildren will have an opportunity to study in the United States in the framework of the FLEX program in 2008-2009.

The due announcement was made by US ambassador to Azerbaijan Anne Derse during the meeting with Azerbaijani graduates of the FLEX program.
She noted that the FLEX program is intended for pupils of the ninth, tenth and eleventh forms. According to Derse, tests have already been organized in Ganja, Mingechevir and Sheki. Similar tests will be held in Baku in October. Persons, who will pass all these tests will get an opportunity to study in the United States.
It should be noted that FLEX program is a long-term program of exchange for senior pupils. 40 schoolchildren will be sent to the United States this year.
The said program was ratified by the US congress and it is the first long-term program of exchange for senior pupils to live in the United States for a year.
This program is fully financed by the US government and the steeling coordination is held by the Bureau of educational and cultural programs of the US Department of State.
It should be noted that selection of candidates is held on the basis of a contest, which is open and free for pupils, born in period from January 1 of 1992 until July 15 of 1994.
