Ankara hosted the research conference of the Azerbaijan-Turkey fund of historical studies, founded by the Azerbaijan-Turkey Businessmen Association (ATIB) on September 27-28.

Sources from ATIB told Day.Az that the conference involved public figures, scientists, representatives of universities and organizations of Azerbaijan, Turkey and the United States.
In the first part of the conference the parties heard reports on the "Armenian issue from the point of view of international law", "Armenian issue from the point of view of Turkey", and "Armenian issue from the point of view of Azerbaijan". After that the purposes of the organization were defined. A document, transferred to the ATAF Strategic commission for preparing the strategy of the organization for 2009-2015 was adopted by results of the conference.
The conference participants also proposed to hold the Azerbaijan-Turkey historical congress in Baku in May of 2009. This issue will be presented at the session of the ATAF Trusteeship Council.
It should be noted that ATAF will hold the next session of its trusteeship council in Baku on November 15-18 of 2008.
