The European Court of Human Rights has started the communicative stage of consideration of the claim of editor-in-chief of the Gundelik Azerbaijan and Realny Azerbaijan newspapers Eynulla Fatullayev, said journalist's defender Isakhan Ashurov.

He noted that the European court recognized Eynulla Fatullayev's claim as eligible.
"The claim has the following points: about the direct violation of article 6, paragraph 1 of the European convention on protection of human rights "Right for unbiased and fair court trial", article 10, paragraph 1 "Right for expression and so on", said Ashurov.
The defender noted that the European Court on Human rights is waiting for a response to the request on the case of editor-in-chief Eynulla Fatullayev, sent to the Azerbaijani side.
It should be reminded that the Court of Grave Crimes sentenced Fatullayev to 8.5 years of imprisonment. The editor-in-chief is charged under articles 214.1 (threat of terrorism), 283.2.2 (inciting national, racial or religious enmity by a person with abuse of powers) and 213.2.2. (tax evasion) of the Criminal Code.
