President of Azerbaijan: "Political, economic, social and other values in Azerbaijan will be on the level of the developed countries" - UPDATED

"Through the past few years the state budget of Azerbaijan has grown significantly and in 2009 it will near $15 bln. In the near future Azerbaijan will add to the list of the developed countries", said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, according to Novosti-Azerbaijan.

"The state budget of Azerbaijan will near $15 bln in 2009, which is an incredible progress through the past 5-6 years. A part of our planned programs has already been executed, another part is being executed but most programs are still to be implemented", said Aliyev during the ceremony, organized by head of the Caucasus Muslims Department Allahshukur Pashazade on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.

The head of the state stressed confidence that Azerbaijan will add to the list of the developed countries.

"The political, economic, social and other values will be on the level of the developed countries, the long-lasting development of the country will be ensured and Azerbaijan will be successfully moving forward", noted the President.

Touching upon the internal policy, Aliyev noted that successful steps are taken for the resolution of internal problems and "their results are apparent".

"Being a president, I have taken efforts for the soonest resolution of the internal problems. Azerbaijan's development rates mostly depend on this. Stability is preserved in the country. Azerbaijan is successfully settling both economic and socially oriented projects. All the problems of the Azerbaijani people can be settled. This has been my main task during the five years of my presidency.

THe President does not doubt that "favorable situation, established in the country, will further continue and steps will further be taken for democracy development in the country".

Moreover, the head of the state added that Azerbaijan's positions in the region are also getting stronger.

"Our all initiatives are aimed at the development of regional cooperation, both in the political sphere and in economy, energy, as well as in ensuring security and our external policy, aimed at the consolidation of Azerbaijan's position, complements our internal policy, concluded I.Aliyev.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev took part in the Iftar ceremony on the occasion of holy month of Ramadan, reports Day.Az with reference to AzerTac.

Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Department sheikh ul-islam Allahshukur Pashazade organized the iftar ceremony on the occassion of the holy day of Ramadan in his residence.

It was attended by head of the Baku and Caspian eparchy of the Russian Orthodox Church Alexander, chairman of the religious community of mountain Jews Semen Ikhiilov and representative of the Roman catholic church in Azerbaijan Jan Chapla.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev made a speech during the ceremony.

The head of the state was presented a carpet with an ayat from Holy Book of Koran. Then Koran was read and iftar opened.
