Huseyn Baghirov: "Water quality at Baku and Absheron beaches is normal except for two points in Shuvelan and Bozuvna"

He noted that due to the lenth of the coast line in some cases the population misunderstands information about polluted areas.

"Only a part of a beach is seriously polluted, another is low polluted and the third part is not polluted at all. Monitoring showed serious pollution at two points in Shuvelan and Buzovna. It is connected with repair of cleaning facilities in this area. In the other area pollution is connected with failure to adhere to proportions in the water chlorination process", said the Minister.

Baghirov noted that sea water is of a normal quality at the beaches, including Shuvelan, Mardakan, Pirallakhy, Novkhany, Pirshaghy, Nardaran, Bilga, Zagulba and is polluted at two points in Shuvelan and Buzovna. He said last year these areas were seriously polluted.

"A tender for construction of cleaning facilities in Novkhany and Sahil settlement has been declared. We have set a task to stop discharge of waste waters into the sea. For this purpose it is necessary to clean water, discharged to the sea, which will influence the level of the sea water", said the Minister.
