Kiev prosecutor's office has instituted a criminal case on provision of a status of a refugee to Rovshan Janiyev -Azerbaijani criminal, known as Rovshan Lenkoranski.
The case was instituted by appeal of popular deputy from Our Ukraine-National self-defense faction Gennady Moscal, says the press service for Popular self-defense.

In particular, the deputy pointed at the fact of the undue fulfillment of the duties by officials of the Migration Service in Kiev which caused significant damage to state interests by features of the composition of the crime, envisioned in article 367, p.1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Professonal negligence).

The inspection, carried out by the prosecutor's office revealed that Janiyev's appeal about attachment of the status of a refugee to him was incomplete and not objective.

In particular, Ukrainian officials did not undertook all measures, envisioned by the law, to investigate circumstances which may hamper the attachment of the status of a refugee and did not take into account the fact of his being wanted as a person, committing grave crime of not political nature and hiding from investigation.

As was reported on February 13 of 2008 the officials of the head department for combat with organized crime detained a citizen of Russia Janiyev, wanted by Azerbaijan for committing grave crimes.

In June of 2008, Janiyev, criminal and known as Rovshan Lenkoranski, was attached a refugee status in Ukraine.
