1572 HIV-infected recorded in Azerbaijan

The number of HIV infected patients in Azerbaijan has made 1572 people since 1987 until July 1 of 2008, said the press service for the Azerbaijani Health Ministry.
Thus, of them 1508 are citizens of Azerbaijan, 64 foreigners, 1265 Azerbaijani citizens, infected with HIV are men and 343 are women.

The overall number of those dying of AIDS made 220 people, the number of AIDS infected made 315.

The greater number of those dying of AIDS falls on Baku and Absheron as well as Lenkoran, Sumgayit and others.
