The State Committee for work with Azerbaijanis, residing abroad, is developing the charter of World Azerbaijanis and works at the concept of the activity of the Azerbaijani diaspora, according to the press service for the State Committee.

It should be noted that the charter will lay the ideological basis of the activity of world Azerbaijanis.
It should be noted that the state committee, established by decree of President Heydar Aliyev, marks its six anniversary. It should be reminded that the decree of the President about establishment of the state committee for work with Azerbaijanis residing abroad was passed on July 5 of 2002.
The State Committee is intended for conduction of the state policy towards compatriots residing beyond their native country, expansion of ties between Azerbaijanis, residing in different countries of the world, coordination of work of state and nongovernmental organizations in this sphere.
As reported by the state committee, over 300 Azerbaijani communities are currently functioning outside Azerbaijan.
