Azerbaijan's Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources has held a monitoring of the beaches of Baku-Absheron and Sumgayit, according to the press service for the Ministry.

As is reported, 484 physical-chemical, chemical and microbiological analysis of 67 water samples, taken from 29 points at the beaches were held.
The number of components in the water samples complies with the norm at the coastline strip Pirallakhi-Nardaran owing to installation of module-type cleaning facilities.
The observed low pollution in the Shuvelyan and Buzovny areas is connected with incorrect chlorination in the biological facility in Buzovni and incomplete reconstruction works at the Shuvelyan cleaning facilities.
According to the analysis of the water samples of the Turkan, Zirya, JOrat, Novkhany, Fatmail, Goradil, as well as the fifth microdistrict of Sumgayit, the number of physical-chemical and chemical components complies with the norm. Microbiological surveys showed that the number of e-coli exceed the acceptable norm there.
Water samples taken in Hovsany aeration, in Nakhimov and Khanlar settlements, at Zikh, where cleaning facilities were installed, in Shikhovo sanatorium, Sahil beach, Gyrmyza gel and in the area of gas processing plant in the Qarabagh settlement prove that some chemical components exceed the accepted norm, while the e-coli number top the norm significantly there.
