The Institute for Reporters' Freedom and Safety has sent a repeated appeal to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev with a request to erect a memorial to the deceased editor-in-chief of Monitor magazine Elmar Huseynov, said a source from the Institute for Reporters' Freedom and Safety.
Thus, this was caused by a response letter, sent by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to the Institute for Reporters' Freedom and Safety.
The letter said that monuments in the country are erected on the basis of decrees and regulations in line with the working legislation.
It should be noted that in August of 2007 the Institute for Reporters' Freedom and Safety sent an appeal to the Baku mayor's office with a request to erect monument to E.Huseynov.
Similar appeal was sent to the President of Azerbaijan and Baku Mayor's office, which recommended to appeal to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
