Azerbaijani army officer sentenced for bribery

The Military Court of Grave Crimes has today finished the court process on the case of former commander of N military unit, major Ilqar Amirkhanov and ensign of the same military unit Nazim Huseynov, said a source from the Military court.

The hearing was held in private.

Speaking at the hearing, the state prosecutor demanded 6 years for Ilqar Amirkhanov and 5 years for Nazim Huseynov.

In line with the verdict, Amirkhanov was sentenced to four years in prison and Huseynov for 3.5 years.

The court was chaired by judge Mirzali Abbasov.

It should be noted that the aforementioned persons faced charges under articles 311.3.1, 311.3.2, 341.2.1, 312.1 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
