Only 3% of Azerbaijani schools have access to Internet

"One of the main factors, creating obstacles in wide use of digital technologies in the educational process of Azerbaijan is a weak development of digital infrastructure net, incomplete connection to internal local network of educational establishments and absence of high quality access to Internet."

This is fixed in the state program for information of educational system in Azerbaijan in 2008-2012.

The program says that currently all high schools are connected to local network, about 3% of secondary schools and 12% of secondary special schools have access to internet.

The program fixes that works have been launched for creation of information systems for regulation of education, training staff in the sphere of information and communication technologies for secondary schools.
