On June 9 the State Committee for nationalities and religions of Ukraine provided the status of a refugee to Azerbaijani citizen Rovshan Janiyev, who was kept in the investigation ward of Kiev by decision of the court from February 13 of 2008.
He had previously expected extradition to Azerbaijan, where he was wanted for murder with use of gun, said member of the deputy group "National self-defense" Gennady Moskal.
The deputy, who did not agree with the resolution of the State Committee appealed to the Prosecutor General's office with a request to interfere with the situation and protest the decision of the court. Moscal noted that Janiyev is a criminal according to the Interior Ministry of Azerbaijan.
According to him, it is strange that this citizen got a status of a refugee for its belonging to a certain social group for the first time in the history of independent Ukraine. Yet, Moscal is sure that only wealthy countries can provide status of a refugee to people with untraditional sexual orientation, pursued in their country, by belonging to a certain social group.
"Ukraine is not so wealthy to feed homosexuals, criminals and murders today", noted he, proposing that corruption is used in the case.
"This is an unprecedented case when the court on the basis of the status of refugee wants to release a criminal", resumed he.
