The working group of Azerbaijan State Commission on Captives, Missing People and Hostages made clear the fate of 100 Azerbaijanis registered as missing people as a result of search-investigative measures and removed their names from the list of missing, the State Committee reported, according to APA.
26 of those persons are alive, some of them live abroad, 33 were killed in the battles and their bodies were recognized and buried and 41 were registered again.
According to the information as of June 1, 2008 there are 4264 captives, missing people and hostages. 3439 of them are military servicemen and 817 are civilians (8 were not identified yet). 47 of missing people were children when they were taken hostages, including 16 little girls, 262 women, 359 old people, including 156 women. 783 persons of 4264 reported to be captured or taken hostages according to the witnesses. 1396 persons were released from captivity or hostage. 343 of them are women, 1053 men (169 children, including 65 little girls), 289 old people, including 112 old women.
Analysis of the materials the State Committee received showed that 550 people were killed or died in the captivity. 104 of them were women and 446 men.
The names of 137 people have been identified, but 74 still remain unknown.
