Book on Khojaly tragedy presented in Baku

The book "Khojaly genocide: causes, ways of commitment and consequences" was presented in Baku Friday.

Sani Hajiyev, dean of the faculty of history of the Baku State University, noted that the Khojaly genocide has become a component of ethnic cleansing, for two centuries committed against Azerbaijanis by Tsarist and Soviet Russia.

Hajiyev touched upon the historical and scientific importance of the presented book. At the same time he noted that the book describes historical conditions in which the tragedy evolved and its causes on basis of facts and documents.  

The scientist expressed wish that the book is translated into foreign languages.

Boyan Aziz, the author of the book and professor of the chair of history of the Baku State University, as well as the candidate of historical sciences, announced addressing the event that he viewed the tragedy from the scientific point of view: "Ancient scribes have been discovered on the stones in Khojaly. Khojaly is among the most ancient places of human settlement not only in Azerbaijan but also in the entire East.

Armenians have destroyed everything and this can be called an act of vandalism, committed against the world civilization.
