Azerbaijani captive's uncle: "The International Red Cross refuses to name the country to which Samir has been handed over"

02 February 2008 [13:25] - TODAY.AZ
The parents of Azerbaijani soldier Samir Mamedov, who were captured by Armenians on December 24, 2006 and handed over to a third country on January 31 of 2008, are not informed about their son's location.

The due information was provided by Samir's uncle Vidadi Mamedov, APA reports.

He said, the announcement of the Azerbaijani representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross that they are not aware of which country Samir Mamedov has been handed over to, seems unconvincing.

"We do not believe it. They are well aware where Samir is. They just don't want to tell us", he announced.

Vidadi Mamedov said on February 4 the relatives will leave to the Barda representative of the Red Cross to demand for explanations.

"Samir's parents will appeal to the State Commission for war prisoners, missing people and captives", he announced.

It is currently not known where Samir Mamedov, who has been handed over to a third country, is.
