Azerbaijan's Ministry of Ecology allocates AZN 14.2 million for restoration of woods in 2003-2008

AZN 14.2 million have been allocated through four years.

According to the press service for the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, the restoration was planned at an area of 69,700 hectares in five years.

"In the last four years, the Ministry held restoration works at an area of 48,200 hectares, including 18,900 hectares of new forests. In this period, the Ministry grew 200 million young plants, mainly used for restoration of woods.

An area of 26,300 thousand hectares of woods had been restored since 1995 until 2000, while from 2001 until 2007 the restoration made up 60,700 hectares", the press service reports.
