A court hearing on the case of the editor-in-chief of the Gundelik Azerbaijan newspaper Eynulla Fatullayev, in connection with an appeal against the decision of the Court of Grave Crimes was held under the chair of judge Abid Abdinbekov in the Baku Court of Appeal.
The due information has been provided by the defender of the reporter Isakhan Ashurov.
He said the state prosecutor requested the court to uphold the decision of the Court of Grave Crimes.
I.Ahurov protested against the petition of the prosecutor, considering it groundless.
Thus, the Court of Appeal will make a decision of Fatullayev's case tomorrow.
It should be reminded that the editor-in-chief is charged under articles 214.1 (threat of terrorism), 283.2.2. (mongering of national, race or religious animosity by abusing powers) and 213.2.2.(tax evasion) of the Criminal Code.
