Azeri TV channel punished for broadcasting film in Russian

One of the TV channels broadcasted film in Russian in the first day of January and it was punished at once.

"No films in foreign languages will be permitted after that", head of the Azerbaijan National Television and Radio Council (NTRC) Nushirevan Meherremli said.

Head of the National Television noting that that the level of dubbing was unsatisfactory thinks that this work will further be professional.

“We have applied this law to raise quality of dubbing. If we had not made such a decision, improvement would be impossible,” he said.

He stressed that some channels are making excessive use of Turkish films.

“We will also make a decision regarding Turkish films. If we see that Turkish films are broadcasted a lot, we will take special measures against it,” he said.
