Three-legged calf born in Agstafa, Azerbaijan

28 December 2007 [13:32] - TODAY.AZ
An unusual event occurred in the Ashagi Kasaman village of Aghstafa region: a three-legged calf was born at a farm of the village resident Jamal Mustafayev eight months ago.

The calf has no health problems now. It weighs 55kg and does not have a left leg. Jamal Mustafayev said he had never witnessed such an event either in the village or at his farm.

“I could not believe my eyes when the calf was born. I told my family, but they did not believe either. I thought it would die, as it wouldn't drink milk for a day. But now the calf is healthy and sound and is regularly vaccinated. I think this calf is a wonder of Allah,” he said.

Chief of the local authority Fikrat Orujov said the three-legged calf had been under control since April.

“We saw this calf while vaccinating the cattle. Since then we have been controlling and examining it. Though the calf has a defect, it has no health problems,” he said.

Fikrat Orujov said the calf is healthy, because its master takes care of it and it is vaccinated in time.

The three-legged calf can not walk well and is kept in the house.
