The number of drug-related crimes recorded in Azerbaijan within 11 months of 2007, reached 2239, as reported by sources from the State Anti-Drug Commission.
Of these, 1332 are connected with storage, 785 with sale and 104 with drug cultivating.
The law enforcement bodies have confiscated 1,081 kilograms of different narcotic substances, including 147.861 kg of marijuana, 139.432 kg of opium, 736.842 kg of hashish, 78.491 kg of heroine, 1.102 kg of cocaine, 0.5 kg of acetic anhydride, 5.074 kg of methadone, 0.05 kg of poppy straw, 2 ampules of rivothrilelonozep and 110 pills of bromozepame.
Over 359 tons of wild and cultivated plants, containing narcotic substances, have been terminated.
