Azerbaijani reporters send message to CE Secretary General Terry Davis

The information has been provided by the Institute of Reporters' Freedom and Safety.

The message reads that Azerbaijani reporters are operating in hard working conditions, and there are cases of pressure on mass media, murders of reporters, their imprisonment, and fining of reporters and newspapers.

According to the message, 42 reporters have aleady left Azerbaijan in this connection and over 20 reporters seeking refuge have appealed to different embassies, .

The message was signed by the general manager of the Azadlyg newspaper Azer Akhmedov, editor-in-chief of the Yeni Musavat newspaper Rauf Arifoglu, editor-in-chief of the Gundelik Azerbaijan newspaper Shahveled Chobanogly and former officer of this newspaper Chingiy Sultanso.
