Azerbaijani delegation to attend 5th International Turkish Olympiad's final

The Fifth International Turkish Language Olympiad's final will be held in Istanbul, Turkey tomorrow. 20 students from different countries will compete in the final.

The Turkish Olympics will be broadcasted live by STV, APA reports.

Azerbaijani delegation composed of representatives of state bodies, MPs, mass media, NGOs and several more organizations will attend the ceremony. Azerbaijani delegation includes Deputy Minister of Sports and Youth Intigam Babayev, MPs Ganira Pashayeva, Rabiyyat Aslanova, chairman of National Television and Radio Council Nushiravan Maharramli, chairman of Press Council Aflatun Amashov, General Director of Azeri Press Agency (APA) Vusala Mahirgizi, chief editor of Zaman-Azerbaijan newspaper Enes Cansevar, TUSIAB Management Staff Chairman Batachar Baysal, head of Lankaran executive power Suleyman Mikayilov and others. The Olympiad will finish on June 3.

Competition participants will meet numerous famous faces during their stay in Turkey. Famous actors U?ur Arslan, Haluk Levent, Mirkelem and Gezegen Mehmet will help the students give their best in the finals.

The event will host 500 students from 100 countries, including the US, Vietnam, Brazil and Tanzania. The students will compete in several areas: poems, songs, story-writing, presentations and basic knowledge of Turkish.

Last year the winners of first two places sang Azerbaijan songs.
There were 17 countries represented at the first Turkish Olympiad, 24 at the second, 41 at the third and 83 at the fourth.

The International Turkish Olympiad has been organized since 2003 with the goal of promoting the role of Turkish in the world, and it is sponsored by the Education Ministry, Culture Ministry, the Youth and Sports General Directorate, Turkish Language Society (TDK), UNESCO and the Turkish Cooperation and Development Agency (T?KA).
