German embassy informed about graves of German WWII POWs in Azerbaijan

Attending the business forum in Ganja, Per Stankina said Shamkir governorship invited him to the region.

"Archeological excavations concerning Germany have been carried out in Shamkir. These excavations demonstrate the region’s ancient history. I would like to see that archeological center. We know that POWs brought from Germany after the World War II were buried in five graveyards in the region. I want to visit these cemeteries but do not know where they are situated," he said, APA's western bureau reports.
