972 drug crimes recorded in Azerbaijan within four months

972 criminal cases on illicit drug trafficking were recorded in Azerbaijan within four months of this year.

627 of the crimes are connected with keeping, 327 with selling and 19 with planting narcotics, State Committee Combating Narcomania and Illicit Drug Trafficking told the APA.

Law-enforcement bodies removed 239.789kg drugs from the turnover. 41.006kg of the drugs are marihuana, 18.386kg opium, 156.642kg hashish and 23.355kg heroin.
