An Azeri student scored the most points in the Medical Specialization Examination (TUS), one of the most difficult examinations in Turkey.

Rizvan Imamaliyev got 77,321 points in basic medical sciences and 97 points in foreign language, giving him first place in the examination taken by nearly 15,000 future doctors. Imamaliyev is now able to study in Hacettepe University’s Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department.

Stating "like all other Azeri citizens" he loves Turkey very much, Imamaliyev said: "In my country Moscow is generally preferred for medical education. I graduated from the Turkish high school opened in Baku by Turkish entrepreneurs. As my teachers told me about the success of the Turkish universities in the medical field, I transferred to the Cerrahpasa Faculty of Medicine."

Stating that he won a gold medal in the Biology Olympiad held in Azerbaijan as he was studying at a Turkish high school, Imamaliyev said the Turkish teachers made the universities in Turkey a center of attraction for him. Stating he wants to return to Azerbaijan and work for his country after he completes his specialization, Imamaliyev said: "My country needs the specialization area I had the right to attend. I want to educate myself the best way I can and serve my country." Today's Zaman
