Election in National Sciences Academy to be held

ANAS told APA the meeting of Expert Commission was held in Academy on this occasion.

The meeting found out 45 scientists nominated for 13 full member positions and 207 scientists for 31 corresponding member positions. Unpleasant incidents happened in today's meeting in connection with some scientists and experts think it is not acceptable even to nominate those scientists for full and corresponding members of Academy.

The meeting stressed for the first time Nakchivan Academy of Sciences nominated 5 scientists for 5 positions. The nomination of Vasim Mammadaliyev together with Aghamusa Akhundov and Afat Gurbanov for only position in linguistic caused displeasure. The reason for that was that Vasim Mmmadaliyec is known as orientalist.

Strong competition is observed among 13 candidates for corresponding member of Academy too. They are Rafael Huseynov, Teymur Ahmadov, Nizamaddin Shamsizada, Tahsin Mutallimov, Teymur Karimli and others.
