Azeri karatekas to join European championship

The crew of Azerbaijan karate squad to join 42nd European championship to start May 4 in Bratislava, Slovakia, has been released.

Three-day championship includes individual and team fights, head coach Hidayet Shabanov told APA-Sport.

Yusif Jafarov (60 kg), Reshad Husseinov (65 kg), Rafael Agaev (70 kg), Jeyhun Agasiyev (75 kg), Vusal Rehimov (80 kg), Fariz Najafov (+80 kg) will join the individual competition for men. Seyran Bagirov, Taleh Babayev, Shahin Atamov and Amal Atayev will struggle in team competition. Elmira Babayeva (+60 kg) will join the competition for women.
