Kidney Transplantation Center to be established

Deputy Health Minister Elsevar Aghayev told APA that surgery department in Republic Urological Department was renovated for this purpose. After renovation works, the department will be equipped before functioning as Kidney Transplantation Centre.

"There are 600 hundred patients suffering from renal failure. Government finances maintenance hemodialysis of those people. Our aim is to carry out transplantation of kidney. Many works have been done on this way. But transplantation of kidney is carried out sometimes. We want to establish a separate center and transplant kidneys to dozens of patients," he stated.

Elsevar Aghayev said Ministry intends to carry out the transplantation of liver in the future. Deputy Minister added AZM 12 million allocated from president's reserve fund will be spent on the purchase of Mercedes ambulance cars. These cars will be equipped with necessary communication facilities.

The Ministry is to finish renovation of about 20 hospitals by the end of the year.
