Zoo to be constructed in Ganja

Ganja Cultural and Tourism Office's chirperson Mina Malikova said that the construction of Zoo had to start in October, 2006.

"We have this idea from the end of 2006. But cold and rainy weather did not give us chance to start the works. And the construction has already been started at present," she said.

The Office’s chief said that the construction will be over by July, 2007.

"We have already concluded an agreement with Baku Zoo. Five species of animals will be brought to Ganja Zoo for the first time. We want the park function independently in future after Culture and Tourism Ministry will allocate funds and transferred to the side of the city," Malikova said.

She added mini Zoo is set up on the account of Ganja Executive Power and City's Culture and Tourism Office's internal resources.

Malikova also said that 4 workers who will work in Ganja Zoo passed special course in the central zoo in capital. APA
