Mahmoud Karimov reelected National Academy of Sciences Head

All of 49 voters supported Karimov's candidacy during the secret ballot in the annual meeting of ANAS Presidium. Karimov delivered speech after the results have been announced and stated he will be devoted to the confidence.

Karimov saying that much is to be done in next five years, stressed he will try to improve social conditions of scientists within his next presidency and provide the Academy with modern information-communication equipment.

"We intend to implement our plans not only on the account of state budget, but on the account of extra financial sources. This can be done on international organizations' participation in grant competitions," he said.

Karimov noted a draft is prepared on further activity of ANAS. He said the plan will cover activities to be taken by 2010, APA reports.
