Kuwait, Azerbaijan, Georgia work to promote moderation

He made the statement in a press conference on the occasion of the visits of Azerbaijan Mufti Sheikh Allahshukur Pashazade and the Beatitude Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II to Kuwait.

Through their visits to Kuwait Sheikh Shukr-Allah and Ilia II and their parties aim to promote the common grounds and common values among all mankind based on man's dignity, understanding and cooperation, Al-Falah noted.

For his part, Ilia II said moderation was a distinctive nature of the Georgian people, citing the personal friendship between him and Sheikh Shukr-Allah as an example of tolerance.

Ilia II renewed his condemnation of the provocative cartoons insulting Muslim Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) Islam, that promoted the values of confidence and coexistences among the peoples of Central Asia and worldwide, is in no need of anyone to defend it, said Ilia II who visited Iran and met Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Hoseini-Khamenei.

Meanwhile Sheikh Allahshukur Pashazade said he was an old friend of Kuwait and his friendship dates back to 20 years.

He praised the features of moderation and tolerance of Kuwait, and hailed the efforts of Kuwait's Moderation Centre to go global.

Under the auspices of Kuwaiti Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Abdullah Al-Maatouq Al-Maatouq and Al-Falah, Azerbaijan will host an international conference on moderation, Sheikh Shukr-Allah revealed. In the press conference Azeri Ambassador to Kuwait Shahin Abul-Ilah reasserted gratitude to Kuwait for its efforts to affirm the independence of his country and back the relevant UN resolutions.

Azerbaijan and Kuwait will work together to promote bilateral cultural, economic and tourist cooperation, the ambassador added. KUNA
