Mirze Sakit starts hunger strike

Zahidov's brother, editor-in-chief of Azadliq newspaper Ganimat Zahid told the APA the reason of hunger strike is non-execution of journalist's appeal on treatment.

Ganimat Zahid noted that his brother suffers from heart aches and joint pains. He stressed the importance of his brother's transfer to a hospital.

Mirza Sakit was sentenced to 3 years in jail on Article 234.1 (keeping illicit narcotic drugs) of Criminal Code. Azerbaijan's court of Appeals dismissed his appeal and kept the decision of previous court in force.
