Garayev holds conference on presidential order on monumental sculptures, memorial and architectural complexes

Azerbaijan's Culture and Tourism Minister Abulfaz Garayev held a conference on the executive order on monumental sculpture works, memorial and architectural complexes issued by the president on April 2.

The minister mentioned that several important executive orders have been signed recently.

"The head of state was the initiator of the adoption of these orders. Special executive orders were signed on establishing Independence Museum in Baku and Independence monument, establishing Modern Art Museum, improving of theater and cinema, museums, improving activity of Composers' Union and Writers Union since December 18. These executive orders are very important for our country. City and region administrations are to inform us about the memorial complexes and reconstructions and submit their sketches. These activities can be carried out only after experts approve them," he said.

The minister said that boards, monuments and complexes reflecting Great Patriotic War are in bad conditions. Abulfas Garayev said that special council will be set up with regard to implementation of these orders.

Tahir Budagov, chief of the department on work with regions of president's office, Farhad Khalilov chief of Artists' Union, Hafiz Amirkhanov, chief of Azerbaijani Architects' Union, Rasim Efendidyev, director of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Art and architecture Institute promised they will carry out all activities.

Representatives of region and city administrations, architects and experts participated in the conference, APA reports.
