Health Minister meets UN Resident Coordinator

The minister underlined the support of the World Health Organization (WHO), high-level cooperation of Azerbaijani experts with WHO experts and noted that due to the measures taken by related bodies and ministries bird flu was not recorded in Azerbaijan this year.

Shiraliyev said that special technical group has been set up in the ministry to prevent repetition of the proposals presented in the framework of intensive cooperation. He drew the visitor's attention that UN can not only support the implementation of the projects financially, but also help Azerbaijan by expert and advisor services.

Touching upon the problem of specialists, Shiralyev said the country leadership keeps the problem under control.

The UN representative praised the recent activities in the sphere of health, expressing intention to continue cooperation with the Health Ministry. APA
