Azeri chess player Gedir Huseynov to face Armenian Tigran Petrosian in European championship

The 6th round of 8th European chess championship which takes place in Dresden, Germany, is over.

Zeyneb Mammedyarova has best result among Azeri players with 4.5 points. She is 1.5 points behind leader Russian Tatiana Kosintseva. Mammedyarova will play against other Russian Yekaterina Korbut in the 7th round. Ilahe QGeimova, Nergiz Umudova, Mehriban Shukurova have scored 3,5 points, Firuze Velikhanl?, Turkan Mammedyarova, Afag Khudaverdiyeva and Kheyale Isgenderova 2,5 points after 6 rounds.

Vugar Heshimov and Gedir Huseynov have scored 4 points, 1 point behind leaders. Heshimov will face Luibomir Ftachnik (Slovak Republic) and Huseynov Tigran Petrosian (Armenia) in the next round. European and world champ Eltaj Seferli has 3.5, Elmir Huseynov and Vasif Durarbeyli 3, and Logman Guliyev 2.5 points, APA reports.
