Armenian weightlifter gets life-term disqualification

Australian weightlifting team member of Armenian origin Sergo Chahoyan (85 kg) has been suspended for life.

He took doping test after Commonwealth games held in Melbourne in 2005. The test found illicit benzilpiperazin in the blood of world champion. International wrestling Federation imposed a life-term disqualification on the athlete after he failed test B.

He had been suspended for two years in 2001 for taking anabolic steroid. According to International Anti-doping Agency regulations, sportsman failing two tests in a row is removed automatically from national and international competitions, APA-Sport reports.
