Deyanet Kerimov is still going on hunger strike, lawyer says

Elman Osmanov, lawyer for Kerimov, who was sentenced for Afiyeddin Jalilov's assassination, told the APA.

The lawyer said he has today met with the lifer and noted that the lifer noted he will stop hunger strike in case if his life sentence will be commuted to 15 years.

Justice Ministry's Penitentiary Service told the APA they have no information about Kerimov’s hunger strike.

"We got information that all prisoners have stopped hunger strike today," the service said.

The lifers Shakir Rzakhanov, Rahib Mesimov, Ali Guliyev, Elbrus Ibrahimov, Ramiz Gedirov, Intigam Gayibov, Yadigar Bakhshaliyev, Chingiz Pashayev and Elnur Gehermanov including Deyanet kerimov demand to commute their life sentence to 15 years. They have gone on hunger strike since March 27.
