Azerbaijan will be represented by 14 chess players in the European championship to be held in Dresden, Germany from April 3 to 16.

Head coach of national chess team Fikret Sideyifzadeh told the APA-Sport agency Vugar Hashimov, Gedir Huseynov, Logman Guliyev, Eltaj Seferli, Elmir Huseynov and Vasif Durarbeyli will represent Azerbaijan among men competitors.
In the championship of the women chess players Ilahe Gedimova, Firuze Velikhanli, Zeyneb Mammadyarova, Mehriban Shukurova, Turkan Mammadyarova, Khayala Isgenderova, Afaq Khudaverdiyeva, and Nergiz Umudova will represent Azerbaijan.
Due to time-limit of the competition 33 men and 16 women will get chance to take part in the World Chess championship to be held in Russian city of Khanti-Mansiysk.
