Bird flu monitoring to be conducted every month

The Vet Service Chairman Ismayil Hasanov told a press conference that the samples taken from 20,784 fowls during the period of August-March were analyzed negative for H5N1 and no symptoms were found.

He added that bird flu can come to the country as bird migration is continuing now. "The period from December to March is dangerous time. We will continue monitoring regularly despite the period after March is not so risky," he noted.

He also said the international organizations and the USA provide aid to Azerbaijan in fighting the avian influenza.

"The United States has donated four automobiles to the Vet Service," he underscored. APA
