AFFA complains to UEFA

15 March 2007 [08:10] - TODAY.AZ
AFFA sent a protest letter to the UEFA Disciplinary Committee on Wednesday.

The letter protests the events which took place in the match between Azerbaijani and Serbian futsal teams on February 23 in thr frame of European championship qualifying.

"Azerbaijani team couldn't win the match and pass to the final because a Serbian player threw a thing to the field. For this action Serbia doesn't deserve to play in European championship. We expect you to pass a fair decision on the event," the letter says.

Photoes of the episode taken from six different angles were included in the letter. The Disciplinary Committee is expected to conider the protest letter next week.

At the last minutes of the match when the score was 5-5, a serbian player sitting in the bench threw a leg shield to Azeri player Vitali Borisov who was face to face with Serbian goalkeeper. Borisov couldn't score team's victory goal as he lost its balance and fell, APA-Sport reports.
