Helicopter crashes in east Georgia

A Georgian military helicopter crashed early Monday in the east of the country, leaving three people dead, a defense ministry official said.

At approximately 00.30, a Mi-24 Hind helicopter of the Georgian Air Force crashed near Lake Bazaleti, said Levan Nikoleishvili, a deputy defense minister.

He said poor weather conditions may have caused the helicopter to crash, which had been en route to western Georgia. RIA Novosti
