09 March 2007 [11:39] - TODAY.AZ
Iran plans to convert old residential estates of well-known public figures into museums in East Azerbaijan Province, northwest of Iran.

The houses of the personalities include those of Azeri poet, Parvin E'tesami and political activist, Sheikh Mohammad Khiabani.

Parvin Etesami (1906-1941) was a prominent Persian poet of the 20th century. She managed to achieve great fame among Iranian readers despite living only for 35 years.

Sheikh Mohammad Khiabani (1880- 1920) was a cleric and a member of the parliament who became a prominent figure during the Constitutional Revolution (1905-1911).

Reza Ebadi, the director of Azerbaijan's Cultural Heritage and Tourism Organization, said the project is underway and is expected to finish by 2010. SHL/BH
