Azerbaijani soldier dies mysteriously

On Monday his body was sent to Ismailli where he lived, soldier's relatives told the APA. The servicemen who brought his body said the soldier died of illness. But his relatives noted that there were signs of tortures on the soldier.

We looked at the body. Imran's nose was broken. Some parts of his body became black. We think that our so was tortured. He did not suffer any disease, Imran's relatives said.

Military sources told the APA that the soldier committed suicide. He is said to shot at himself. The military Prosecutor's office confirmed the fact. A criminal case was launched on Article 125 (drive to suicide) in Terter Military Prosecutor's Office. The investigation is under way.

Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry did not comment on the case.

Kamilov was born in 1988 in Ismailli and drafted to military service in July, 2006.
